Kurdish Peshmerga forces came under fire by Iranian Quds-backed Iraqi armed forces and the Shi'ite umbrella militia Hashd al-Shaabi in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk. The assault was a direct act of aggression by Iranian-backed groups on a key U.S. ally, just days after President Trump announced he would not certify the nuclear accord and designated the IRGC as a terror organization.
