Iran-Supplied Missiles Used in the 2006 Hezbollah-Israel War

From July 13-22, 2006, Israel Police Bomb Disposal teams located 444 sites where a variety of rockets had struck northern Israel. Those rockets included: [1]

  • 122 mm. long rockets (4 with a delay fuse)
  • 122 mm. rockets with enhanced range
  • 220 mm. rockets (Syrian)
  • 240 mm. rocket (“Katyusha”)
  • 240 mm. ballistic missile ("Fajr-3")

122 mm. LONG ROCKET

Fragmentation - 2 layers of serrated steel

Range - 20.4 km/12.7 mi.
Diameter - 122 mm.
Explosive weight - 6.33 kg/14 lb.


122 mm. IMPROVED/LONG-RANGE  ROCKET

Fragmentation - ball bearings 6mm. in diameter

Range - approx. 30 km/18.6 mi.
Diameter - 122mm.
Explosive weight - approx. 6.33 kg/14 lb.


220mm ROCKET (SYRIA)

Range - 65-70 km/40.3-43.4 mi.
Diameter - 220mm.
Explosive weight - approx. 40 kg/88 lb.
 
Metal ball bearings 6mm. in diameter from 220 mm. Syrian-made rocket

240 mm. ROCKET

Range - 10.5 km/6.5 mi.
Diameter - 240 mm.
Explosive weight - 18 kg/40 lb.

FAJR-3

Range - 43 km/26.7 mi.
Diameter - 240 mm.
Explosive weight - approx.50 kg/ 110 lb.

" ZILZAL" ROCKET

Range - 210 km/130.5 mi.
