Jerusalem, Feb. 9 – To coincide with the 20 year anniversary of China-Israel relations, The Israel Project hosted a briefing for Israel-based Chinese media with Amos Yudan, President and CEO of Comodan Far East Ltd. and the man heralded as the “godfather” of China-Israel cooperation. Speaking to a group that included representation from every Chinese outlet, Yudan briefed journalists on the history of the relationship as well as new developments in China-Israel cooperation.

Tel Aviv, January 25 – With the international community pushing for new sanctions on Iran, Tehran threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz and oil prices rising due to instability in the Middle East, TIP reached out to diplomats from the Russian Federation, Canada, the Netherlands, South Korea, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Colombia offering a briefing on world energy markets, alternative energies and practical solutions developed by Israel.

Jerusalem, January 24 – As part of its Educating Leaders initiative, The Israel Project reached out to Jerusalem- and Ramallah-based diplomats in a series of 1-1 meetings. TIP met with senior diplomats from the Delegation of the European Union, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Finland and the Czech Republic, who were briefed on TIP's Palestinian research as well as Israel's efforts for peace.

Former Israeli Defense Minister: Hezbollah may Obtain Non-Conventional Weapons
 

January 18, 2012, Jerusalem – Israel is concerned the continued instability in Syria could lead to the Iranian proxy Hezbollah obtaining thousands of non-conventional weapons. That's according to former Israeli defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer. He fears the Lebanese-based militia could get its hands on weapons stockpiled in Syria.

Leading up to the South Carolina primary, TIP staff met with all of the remaining Republican primary candidates again, speaking to them about the importance of the U.S.-Israel relationship and the need for strong sanctions on Iran.

Former Mossad Agent: Still Room for Diplomacy with Iran
 

Jerusalem, Jan. 11 – There is still an opportunity to talk to the Iranian leadership and prevent international military action, former deputy head of the Mossad Ilan Mizrahi told journalists on Jan. 11. TIP’s Jaffa Date for Foreign Dips

Over 100 guests from 24 countries joined prominent members of Israeli society and friends of TIP for an evening showcasing the diversity of 'Middle' Israel.

Saul Singer Media Tour in China

 

China- On Dec. 19-24, The Israel Project took Saul Singer, co-author of the bestselling Start-Up Nation, on a media and leaders tour in four Chinese cities – Beijing, Chongqing, Nanjing, and Shanghai. The tour revolved around three pivots – media, students and scholars, and leaders. TIP worked with the Israeli Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General in Shanghai on this tour.

Diplomats and members of the international media got a bird's-eye view Wednesday of the security problems confronting Israel in the face of the stalled peace process with the Palestinians.The diplomats from the U.S., Mexico, Moldova, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Republic of Congo as well as reporters from European and Asian news agencies were briefed by IDF Brig. Gen. (Res.) Relik Shafir about the Israeli security concerns in peace talks with the Palestinians.

Israel Leads the Way in Agrotech

Israel, Nov. 14 – The Israel Project hosted a group of 17 Israel-based foreign journalists and diplomats on its first Agro-technology tour showcasing Israeli innovations and solutions to many agricultural challenges worldwide. The attendees were from South Korea, China, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Thailand and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
